Carol LeMaitre is the founder and head of Sanchez Street Studios, a thriving Pilates studio in San Francisco. She has taught Pilates for 30 years, the MELT Method for 11 years, and has led international retreats for the last 10 years. She developed and co-taught Pilates teacher training through Pilates Education Lab with Sharon Gallagher-Rivera and relishes teaching teachers around the world.

Her audio only classes are available on iTunes and Sanchez Street Studios maintains a full library of her recorded Pilates and MELT classes. Carol enjoys nothing more that using Classical Pilates and the MELT Method to help folks find and maintain their strongest and most mobile self. She takes great pleasure in combining these two modalities in a way that will challenge the most advanced students while being accessible to absolute beginners. Having used Pilates to recover from a back injury, prepare for and recover from the birth of her two children and stay strong and mobile in her 6th decade, Carol is a true believer. Pilates is a method of exercise created by Joseph Pilates. It focuses on creating strength and mobility in equal measure and is essential for maintaining good posture, maximum strength and the freedom of movement needed to enjoy life to the fullest. The Pilates Method utilizes unique apparatus, but the basis for the method is the mat work. We will be practicing the mat work on this retreat.

The MELT Method is a self treatment technique utilizing small balls to simulate the effects of bodywork. Each participant will leave with a MELT Ball Kit to continue their MELT Method practice at home.
